Dude, one day I will get to sleep again.

I am real tired. I can't fall asleep on the night's when I have to be at work early in the morning or I have a shit ton of stuff to do, so that I can't. That is what I am right now. Still cold here though.

Freezing my ass off

That is what I have been doing all today. I waited for the bus in twenty degree weather this morning on the way to work and again tonight on the way home from the movies. It is mind-numbingly cold out there. I was one giant shiver. Fortunately the bus/trains all came soon today.

In movie news, I saw two films "Get Rich or Die Trying" and "In Her Shoes" because that is a combo you would normally expect from a girl like me. I realy liked in her shoes (I know, predictable--there was crying, I miss my sister) although the book was way better. I went to the other film because I was way early for Shoes and it was the best filler choice. Jim Sheridan directed it--he also directed "My Left Foot," "In the Name of the Father," "The Boxer," and "In America" all very Irish films because he is an Irishman. I was fascinated by the idea that he would direct this film (odd in that he didn't do the screenplay and it is in no way Irish). Anyway it was pretty good. Some of the acting was 'flaccid at best' and that was the main problem with it. Jim Sheridan knows struggle and poverty and gang violence--just the Irish version of it, but he gets it in a storytelling sense. Also it had the giant kid who knocked Josh down in the hallway on an election day episode of west wing (season three I believe)

I am a giant nerd

I have read over 1,200 pages in four books since last Tuesday. Yeah, I have apparnetly spent almost al my free time reading. I also cried three separate times while watching "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" yesterday. I know, my utter lameness knows no bounds!

On the other side of that coin, I am the employee of the month at my job. Oh, wait I think I just felt my lameness creating new and amazingly farflung bounds of lame. Pier One loves me, what can I say?

And I was doing so good

Yeah, I know I took a postng break. Whatever. I am the new Employee of the Month at my Pier One store. It surprised me, and I think it is fairly hilarious, but I am the employee of the month, and I got $15 and free picture frame, so that is cool.

I am so excited for all of the movies coming out. Bee Season, Pride and Prejudice, the new Harry Potter, Walk the Line, and that is only getting started. I may just move into the movie theatre. I may have to sneak into a few. Oh well!

Iron Jawed Angels

See this movie! See it, now or as soon as you can. It totally rules in a rock star historical film sort of way. It is not your average period piece. Anyway, put it in your netflix queue or rent it or even freaking buy it. It is that good.

That's really all. Also no Oprah or anyone more affiliated with Oprah then those who watch it on TV. Yeah, so that was that, and see that movie!!

Going to the Movies

I had a great day off today. I went to the movies and saw North Country, and then I went to the big huge library in downtown Chicago and got three new books including one I have been coveting and never finding because it was just published last month.

North Country was good. Very Oscar-acting-movie, but still good. An interesting and kind of upseting story of the women who work at the mine.

In other news, an Oprah taping may be happening a my Pier One store tomorrow. My mom will totally freak if that were to happen. I doubt I will meet Oprah, but I wonder who we will meet--maybe the cute designer man or Kirstie Alley. Otherwise what would be the point of coming into the store? Crazy, huh!

Also, my netflix has been lying to me lately. I keep getting movies one day later then it says, and I am saddened by that.

Ahhhh, Netflix how I love thee

I am well into the middle of a marathon watching all of the six feet under the netflix can send me. Actually I am alternating discs with other things in order to keep up with the watching between my job's hours and my roomate's job's hours. Anywho, Netflix was a brilliant idea, and I love it dearly even if I am accepting awards from some class action lawsuit it is/was involved in. A free month of four dvd's at a time is quite amenable to me no matter what the reason I get it.

Also my horoscope freaked me out this morning. It was like it has been reading my mind lately or something. Although, if it is right I may have a great weekend to look forward to.

Blogging Hiatus Over

After three months of rare blogging I am back in th game. I am online in my apartment with our wireless internet, and I will be posting on a regular if not actually daily basis. I am still here in Chicago where I will stay for quite a while so feel free to come and visit. More later as I must get ready for work now!
