Totally sick to my stomach

Over something that might be quite bad or might be nothing at all. See at this juncture I just have no idea. I will know when I get home from work but not until then. Hopefully, it is nothing. Hopefully someone was being helpful in a way that turned out just to scare us to death and minorly inconvenience us but not mess anything up in any way.

Or not. I don't want to think about the not. And yet I can feel the not hanging over me and settling in my stomach like a stone. I will update tomorrow. Man, oh man.

Turned out to be nothing at all. Someone just being helpful except not really. However, all things are fine!

I am so glad to know that. I was all worked up and completely incapable of helping, given my distance.

awww, thanks Sally. The only crap thing is I must wait a week for new laundry to return to me, instead of just to the end of the weekend.

Okay, Heather, I'm going to make a rule: No vague posts about possibly horrible events. If it's about boys or friends or work or whatever, that's fine, but if it's going to sound like you're being murdered or set on fire, either explain or skip it until after the events.

Did someone send you a pig's heart or something?

No, we signed up for a new laundry service. They come to our house and get dirty laundry and bring it back clean. It is really designed for people with doorman or hallways--not people with front doors that lead outside.

We have a gated little front porch-ish thing, so we figured it was safe to just leave the bags on it. Our street is out of the way and homey and not the kind of place where obviously purposefully placed things would disappear.

Except around lunchtime the laundry driver guy called me to ask me where the laundry was because it was gone. Yeah! 50 pounds or so of all the clothes, socks, underwear I wear on a regular basis. All of it!! Apparently gone. See where the sick feeling comes in.

Turns out no one stole it (which was the least likely possibility). Turns out landlord being 'helpful' (which was one of the most likely possibilities). I just have to wait until next Thursday to get clean laundry.

I'm glad that everything worked out. I'm also glad that while bad, it would have only been lost clothes and not injury or accident.

Scare me half to death, I was thinking you were pregnant or something. See how vague that was!
